Dead simple rules with a strategic punch

The goal: Don’t die.

The method: Draw carefully, play ruthlessly, and make everyone else die instead.

Last one standing becomes il Capo: a title that sounds glamorous until you realize how many corpses it took to earn.

On your turn, you can either draw a card (risky) or play a red card (aggressive). Red cards target people. Blue cards defend or redirect attacks. Somewhere in the deck are green Skull cards that bring you one step closer to the afterlife.

But for those who die along the way, death is not the end; it’s just a change in job description.

Serenissima has ghosts in it’s bones

il Capo is a compact card game of lies, ambushes, and calculated exits, set in the grimy underbelly of Serenissima: a fictional city where everyone is well armed and morally bankrupt.

When you die, you become a ghost. And ghosts in il Capo don’t simply float around looking tragic. They mess with the game.

Other games kick you out when you lose. Not here, not in the city of Serenissima. il Capo hands you supernatural tools to haunt the table, tip the balance, and chase revenge from beyond the grave. Death becomes part of the strategy, not the end of it. It’s part social mechanic, part haunting, part revenge fantasy.

Fun for all levels

Whether you’re a calculating schemer, a tipsy backstabber, or just here to flip a table and cause problems, il Capo has a seat for you. The rules are sharp, easy to teach, and full of opportunities to get clever or get even. And best of all: even if you die you still get to play.

No breaks. Just fun.

The Experience

Perfect for a group to test their relationships or a couple to experience a strategic, stylish, and brutal collapse of everything they love. Every play is a choice between survival and spectacle. You’re navigating a knife fight in a smoke-filled alley, with one eye on the graveyard pile and the other on your “friend” who keeps drawing without flinching.

The first time you play, it’s a riot.

The second time, it’s personal.

By the third you’re setting traps two turns in advance and watching your friends walk right into them.

Pick your poison of play-style: clever, cutthroat, or chaotic. All are welcome. Bring in the Guards mechanic for added tension and strategic depth, or strip it down to a brutal 1v1 duel. It’s lean, mean, and always worth another round.

Crisp hand-drawn design

The cards are all hand-drawn, each one a depiction of Serenissima’s teeming underbelly. The design is sharp, stylish, and built so everyone at the table can see the danger coming, no matter how they see color.
